We're Back! River Dog Academy Returns to Serve Central Texas

After a wonderful hiatus focused on family, I'm thrilled to announce that Riverdog Academy is officially back in business. We are now based in the beautiful Lakeway community and surrounding Central Texas area.

A Little History

For those who don't know me, I'm Kiki David (formerly Maria Victoria "Tori" Garcia), and I ran River Dog Academy in San Marcos from 2016 to 2020. During those years, I had the privilege of working with all sizes and temperaments of dogs and their families, tackling everything from basic puppy manners to complex behavioral challenges.

The work was incredibly rewarding, but life called me in a different direction for a few years. Now, settled in Lakeway since 2024, I'm ready to get back to what comes naturally: helping dogs and their humans build stronger, calmer relationships.

Why I Do This Work

Every week, I meet families who are at their wit's end. The new rescue who resource guards. The sweet puppy who's turning into a leash-pulling nightmare. The reactive dog who makes walks stressful instead of enjoyable.

Here's what I've learned after 9+ years in this field: every dog can improve with proper guidance and consistency. It's not about magic tricks or overnight transformations. It's about understanding what your dog needs and having the tools to provide it.

I'm a balanced trainer, which means I believe in clear boundaries paired with fair consequences and a whole lot of love. I earned my 500-Hour Canine Training and Behavior Specialist certification from Starmark Academy back in 2016, and I've spent nearly a decade refining my approach with real dogs facing real challenges.
